INDO-EUROPEAN RESIDENCY PROJECT KOLKATA

The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata (www.goethe.de/kolkata) and the Alliance Française du Bengale (http://bengale.afindia.org), in collaboration with the Kolkata based gallery CIMA (http://www.cimaartindia.com/) and Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal (www.visvabharati.ac.in) are organizing the second interdisciplinary Indo - European Residency Project Kolkata. The seven week long residency takes place in Kolkata, West Bengal, India and in Santiniketan, West Bengal, India.

For the Indo-European Residency Project Kolkata, three artists practicing different art forms (one from Germany, France and India) will work and explore the cities together, for six weeks in Kolkata and one week in Santiniketan. During their stay, the artists will meet for a productive exchange with artists, NGOs and others in West Bengal. The aim of this residency is the creation of an individual or collective art project. The engagement with fellow artists from different countries along with personal artistic experiences will help create a new cultural space for inspiring ideas and producing entrancing results.

Launch of the Indo-European Residency Project Kolkata
The launch of the programme will include a presentation by all three artists about their past works in order to introduce themselves, their interest areas, their backgrounds and about their specific field of expertise.
It will be the first evening of interaction and exchange between the artists and the people of Kolkata.

The Final Presentation
The final presentation will include showcasing of their works that are created either collectively or individually from their days of experience and exposure in Kolkata and Santiniketan.
